Sutton/Mansfield Day #3

Saturday 05/09 - day trip around Bakewell.

Today we covered a few places:

(1) Over Haddon

This peaceful village is set high up on the hill tops of central England. Arriving @ 12pm, we first had a sumptous lunch before going off on a 2 hour walk down hill towards the River Lathkill. The steep journey down to the river was across several pastures where sheep were grazing.

(2) Bakewell; A brief pause in Bakewell where we picked up some Bakewell Pudding which is what Bakewell is known for.

(3) From Bakewell we drove down through the grounds of Chatsworth House - a mansion which is home to the Duke of Devonshire. We only drove through and plan to visit properly on Monday.

(4) We headed for Crown Carveries, Nottingham. This place featured meat carvery with unlimited vegetables, all for 5 pounds!
